About Kerrie

Natural Chef – Recipe Developer – Fitness Enthusiast – Nature Lover

After giving up meat in 2010, I had no choice but to get more involved in cooking. Nothing too fancy in the beginning; I would mostly make the vegetarian version of whatever my family were eating, probably using Quorn for protein, as that was one of the few fake meat options back then. Over the years, I became more creative with some trial and error along the way… Little did I know that I was shaping my career this whole time. I look fondly back at my earlier posts from 2015 on my Food Instagram to see where it started (smoothie bowls and big sexy salads).

Lockdown 2020- I was living in Toronto working as a server/bartender, so when the world shut down it allowed me the time to cook with the best intentions. I adopted a MOSTLY whole food plant based lifestyle and after just a few months of eating nothing but goodness, I felt better than I had in a long time. I lost weight, my skin was clearer,  hair stronger, and I had more energy. This is when I realised I wanted to change my career and help other people too. Soon after that I moved back to London and started studying at the College of Naturopathic Medicine as a Vegan Natural Chef- I studied under nutritionists, herbalists, dieticians, and natural chefs alike.

Over the years, my passion has grown stronger and my interests have evolved to more than just good old healthy food. I focus not only on flavour, but also longevity, gut microbiome, weight loss/management, muscle growth and maintenance. I am a gym enthusiast and eat not only to fuel a regular day, but also to support muscle growth and repair. I absolutely love being in nature and walking my little socks off with my wee doggy Molly.

BALANCE- It took me a long time and lots of ups and downs to learn the difference between living a balanced lifestyle and restriction. I used to have the all or nothing attitude when it came to food choices. I was either on a diet or I wasn’t. I was either losing weight or gaining weight. I was eating sugar or I wasn’t… It is a lot more like 80/20 these days. Nothing makes me happier then a macro friendly, vibrant plate packed with micro nutrients and made with love, BUT soul food can come in the form of a dark chocolate and walnut banana bread from my favourite coffee shop. We humans have been blessed with taste buds so it would be a shame to say no 😀
